1. Event Policies
Free participation.
RUNNTENN events are free to attend. Registration is requested so we can manage results, communicate event details, and keep participants informed, but there is no entry fee and no prize money.
Format.
Events are 5K community runs, rucks, and walks with a single start time, typically 8:00 AM. Runners, ruckers, and walkers of all paces and abilities are welcome. There is no time cutoff that excludes anyone who wishes to finish at their own pace.
Registration and check-in.
Participants should register in advance when possible and check in at the event as directed. Accurate registration information helps us provide results and communicate important updates, including weather changes.
Code of conduct.
RUNNTENN events are open, welcoming, and family-friendly. We expect all participants, volunteers, and spectators to treat one another with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threatening behavior, or conduct that endangers others will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event and future events.
Personal responsibility and safety.
Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own health, fitness, and safety. Courses may run on public greenways, parks, sidewalks, or roads shared with others. Participants must follow all course markings, volunteer instructions, posted park rules, and applicable traffic laws, and stay aware of their surroundings at all times. You should consult a physician before participating if you have any health concerns.
Minors.
Participants under 18 are welcome but must be registered by and remain under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the minor throughout the event. A parent or guardian must agree to the Waiver & Release on the minor's behalf.
Dogs, strollers, and mobility aids.
Where permitted by the venue, leashed dogs, strollers, and mobility aids are welcome. Participants with dogs or strollers are asked to start toward the back and yield to others. All participants are responsible for the safe handling of anything or anyone in their care, and must follow venue-specific rules, which may differ by location.
Headphones.
For your safety and awareness on shared courses, we recommend keeping headphone volume low or using one earbud so you can hear other participants, volunteers, and traffic.
Weather and cancellation.
Events are held rain or shine, but RUNNTENN may delay, modify, or cancel an event due to severe weather, unsafe conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. We will communicate changes as early as possible through email and our usual channels. Because events are free, there are no refunds to process.
Volunteers.
RUNNTENN is a volunteer-driven organization, and our events depend on community volunteers. Volunteers are covered by these same policies and are owed the same respect and cooperation as participants.
Photography.
RUNNTENN and its partners may photograph or record events for community, promotional, and impact-reporting purposes. By participating, you understand that your image may appear in these materials. See the Waiver & Release for details, and contact us if you have concerns about a specific image.
Personal property.
RUNNTENN is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property at events. Please keep your belongings with you or leave valuables at home.
